ok…here’s what you do. First, get excited about cooking good food. Invite friends over to test new recipes and have some fun. If you love pancakes, check out this allrecipes site and look up “buttermilk pancakes II” submitted by Burygold. Put these on the griddle and top with blueberries and you think you died and went to heaven. Make ‘em for dinner!
Meatloaf lovers, “glazed meatloaf II”, submitted by delia, is mouthwatering delicious. Add a baked potato and salad and you’ll be wanting to hug me….I believe.
So, go ahead and ad some culinary excitement to your life. And…maybe someone elses…if you know what I mean.

So…this coming Sunday, after reviewing my favorite Allrecipes.com website, I’m making “Slow Cooker Beef Stew I” submitted by BUCHKO for dinner.
Slow cooker meals aren’t my preference because I like cooking over the stove. A little sip of wine…a little taste of stew…a little more salt…a little sip of wine….maybe some more wine….
I’m also making a pecan pie with a recipe from Allrecipes, “Pecan Pie V” submitted by Elaine Helms. Personally, I can live without pecan pie. Cherry’s my favorite. But this pie is for someone else. A little gift let’s say.
I’ll let you know how it turns out.

As planned, I made the “Allrecipes” beef stew this past Sunday and decided to bake up some scratch buttermilk biscuits to go with it. I actually followed the beef stew recipe without any changes. Ok, I admit it, I left out the celery because I hate eating cooked celery almost as much as mushrooms. So, how did I rate the beef stew on a scale of 1 to 5 stars? Here’s a clue. When my guest was getting ready to leave, I offered some leftovers to take home. “Just give me a few of those delicious biscuits” she said, “nothing else please”. The beef stew looked mouthwatering delicious but the taste was bland….no big beef flavor. I give it three out of five stars and that’s being generous. It wasn’t the beefs fault. My butcher sells the best meat on the market. If I make this again, I would add beef base to the pot and maybe a bit more onion.
I love beef stew, so if anyone has a recipe they swear by, post it up.

“Pecan Pie V” Two thumbs up….definately a five star pie. Really. If you like pecan pie and want to embibe without your teeth hurting from all the sweetness, try this recipe.
Here’s some of the comments I heard from those who endulged:
    “definately a do-over”
    “best pecan pie ever”
“OMG..this is freakin’ fabulous”…ok, that was me, but hey, I can have an opinion.
