I didn’t know what to expect when it was decided that we would be visiting Trinity@7. After a little difficulty finding the proper entrance (we arrived somewhat early) we were warmly welcomed by Steve who told us to make ourselves comfortable. The musicians were still warming up and the atmosphere was quite different than I had imagined. It had the feeling of a coffeehouse, but somewhat more mysterious.

This gathering proved to be exactly as described on Trinity’s website.
“Even those who thought they were allergic to organized religion of any kind discover that the simple eloquence, safety and pervasive peace of Trinity @ 7 is compelling. Trinity @ 7 is truly a distinctive form of encounter with the holy.”

This was an especially calming and meaningful experience for me. Cam Miller talked about the similar thread in the various readings that had been selected for this evening. He pointed out the common ground that unites all of us. We just have to see it, hear it, and experience it in its most basic form without expectations, only acceptance. I hope that I am able to carry and share the message of looking at what we all have in common, rather than our differences. It’s a good message.

The “service” lasted an hour and was laced with wonderful musical interludes. Beverages and light snacks were offered afterwards and quite a few folks stayed to engage in various conversation. All in all, I would highly recommend this gathering to anyone who would like to enjoy a quiet, peaceful, and reflective time of worship without the pressures of religious calisthenics.
