		<description>Our bible study group decided that Luke 13: 3 and 5 were not phrases Jesus would have said.  They were added by others wishing to get some other point across.  Jesus was about love and equality and didn&#039;t threaten his followers with death and/or torture.  
The parable of the fruitless fig tree is an example of His forgiving grace.....&quot;ok, let&#039;s give it another year to bear fruit.&quot; ......we figured if another year went by without figs the gardener will come up with another concoction for another year&#039;s time.
The bible is not a tool to threaten, but a gift for learning.  Even though our beloved George was working instead of studying with us this week...we invoked his favorite saying at the end of our discussion.....&quot;listen to what Jesus is saying, it&#039;s all about spreading the love!&quot;</description>
