Saint James the Greater

Saint James the Greater was one of Jesus’ first disciples and is the patron saint of Spain. He is thought to be Jesus’ cousin, as the son of his aunt. His remains are held in Santiago de Compostela in Galicia and his feast day is July 25th. He is distinguished from the other apostle of the same name by being called “Saint James the Greater”. He was martyred for his faith, and is remembered for his dedication to Christ.
